Good afternoon, In June 2021, Archer signed a letter of intent (LOI) with the Australian Missile Corporation (AMC), confirming Archer’s interest in cooperating with the AMC to fulfil the Australian Government’s vision of developing sovereign Australian defence industrial capabilities.

The AMC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Queensland-based NIOA – the largest Australian-owned supplier of weapons and munitions to the Australian Defence Force.

This week, the Australian Government took another step forward in delivering the A$1 billion Sovereign Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Enterprise, announcing the AMC as one of three sovereign industry partners for the initiative. The sovereign partners will support prime contractors and strategic partners, Raytheon Australia and Lockheed Martin Australia.

As a Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance enterprise partner, the AMC will be engaged to assist the Department of Defence to mobilise Australia’s industrial base in support of the enterprise, which could include skilling, infrastructure development, research and development, and test and evaluation, among other things.

Independent analysis commissioned by the AMC has forecast that the economic benefit of the GWEO enterprise over a 20-year period includes more than 13,000 jobs, $178 billion in gross output, $73 billion in GDP and $25 billion in factor income.

The AMC appointed former Defence Minister Christopher Pyne as Chairman of the AMC Advisory Board and recently announced the appointment of Rear Admiral (Ret’d) Lee Goddard as CEO of the AMC.

The AMC has linked with more than 320 leading defence, research and aerospace partners at the cutting edge of world-leading defence systems, including Archer in the area of quantum technologies.
