Towards quantum powered mobile devices

Good morning, in this edition of Archer’s Newsletter, we focus on the recent technological advance made in the Company’s 12CQ chip development and the paradigm shift this work represents in the field of quantum.

Archer’s 12CQ chip development is unique as we have the potential to enable quantum powered mobile devices. This is our principal development direction.

By detecting quantum information on a chip that is compatible with mobile technology we demonstrated our ability to cut through the hype in quantum.

The impressive work by Archer and our colleagues at the world-class Swiss tech institute EPFL showed that quantum powered mobile devices could be possible. Our technology advance provides direct proof to support this exciting possibility.

As many of you will know, quantum computing is not yet a ‘mainstream product’. Quantum computing brings opportunities and challenges that are distinct from those of other computing technologies. There are technological challenges that remain for its development and maturity. It is a classic example of deep tech.

For example, working with materials on the nano and atom scales, and integrating these materials with semiconductor electronics to build quantum chip devices is one of those challenges - not just for Archer.

This is difficult work; however Archer wouldn’t be achieving such technological feats today if we hadn’t been working on these problems for years with a solid plan to get there.

Fifty years ago, one person could build a computer chip. Today, building a quantum computing chip is a global effort. Archer is one of very few companies in the world developing a qubit processor. At Archer we’re working with the very best organisations in the world to develop our chip and demonstrate it works.

We’re determined to grow and achieve our development goals. We enter 2022 well-positioned financially and technologically to develop our quantum chip technology, and our approach is focused on strategic partnerships, tech development, and protecting our IP globally.

Quantum computing technology has the potential to transform entire industries in the coming years. We are proud to be part of the global quantum ecosystem, and it’s wonderful to be making an impact, real progress, in advancing towards what we believe is now well and truly a global industry vision of enabling the widespread use of quantum computing.

Sincerely,

Dr Mohammad Choucair, FRACI FRSN GAICD
